(Step 2)    FHC PORTAL

The FamilySearch Centre Portal Page now operates through Chrome and Firefox browser extensions.

The Portal Page is now accessed at https://www.familysearch.org/centers/portal.

Access to Premium Websites and Online Image Records is now made possible by the Chrome and Firefox Browser Extensions.

Use the links in the Help Article, linked just below, to download the Extensions:
How do we use the FamilySearch center premium content browser extension?

Most of our FamilySearch Centre computers were installed with this new Chrome Extension in September 2021 by Remote Policy control, thereby providing access to the Portal Page without need for a manual installation of the Extension. However, the Help Article provides all you need to fulfil a manual installation of the Extension.

Some good news: it is now possible for our personal laptops to be configured with the Chrome and Firefox Portal Extensions, providing personal connection to the Premium Websites, but only when we are present in our Meetinghouses. The Extension will not function in our home environments. Smart phones and Tablets are not included.

The screenshot to the right shows the FamilySearch Centre Premium Content Extension details when clicking the Green Disk Icon to the top right of the Chrome Browser Window.

In some instances, where there is a FamilySearch Centre on a Temple site, due to different Internet security values, the Portal Extension fails to operate. If this is a predicament you are aware of for the Temple FSC near you, go to whatismyipaddress on one of the Temple FSC computers, and take a full screenshot of the web page appearing. Now contact FSC Support on uk_centresupport@churchservicemail.org and attach (1) Your Screenshot, and in your message to support state (2) The Temple FSC Unit Number, (3) The Name of the Centre and (4) The Name of the Temple. With the information you provide in this way a configuration can be made to invoke a normal working status for the Chrome and Firefox Portal Extensions, in our Temple Family History Centres.
